Who we are

This notice covers the VenueDirector website at venuedirector.com — the marketing pages, blog, free tools and venue directory. It does not cover the VenueDirector product itself, which has its own terms and privacy notice.

What we collect

If you sign up for early access

  • Your email address (required).
  • Your venue name, city and role, if you choose to give them.
  • Whether you ticked “Send me product updates”, and when. It starts unticked; we only send marketing email if you tick it.
  • The page you signed up from and any campaign tags in its link (UTM parameters), so we know how people find us.
  • When you signed up.

If you use a free tool

The tools calculate in your browser. Your inputs may be saved in your own browser so they’re there when you come back, and a “share” link puts your inputs in the URL itself. We count anonymous usage events — a tool was opened, a result was calculated, exported or emailed, a link was clicked — with only the tool, the kind of event and the time: no inputs, no IP address, no cookie and nothing that identifies you. If you ask us to email you your results, we store your email address, the tool, the inputs you saved, the page and campaign tags you arrived with, and — separately — whether you agreed to emails about your results and whether you agreed to marketing email.

Everyone

Like most websites, our hosting provider processes standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect the service. We count visits from automated AI and search crawlers, and visits that arrive from AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, recording only the page, the crawler or referring site, and the time — not your IP address. We don’t use advertising cookies.

Why we use it

  • To contact you about early access, and to send your tool results when you ask.
  • To send product updates — only if you opted in. Every one has an unsubscribe link.
  • To understand which pages and campaigns bring people to the site.
  • To keep the site secure and stop abuse of our forms.

We don’t sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

Service providers who run parts of the site for us: hosting (Vercel), our database (Neon) and email delivery (Resend). They process data on our behalf.

How long we keep it

Early-access and tool signups are kept until you ask us to delete them, or until we no longer need them for the purpose you gave them for.

Getting your data deleted

Reply to any email we’ve sent you, or write to privacy@venuedirector.com, and ask us to delete your details. We’ll confirm once it’s done. You can also ask for a copy of what we hold about you.

For results saved from a free tool, you can do it yourself at Delete my free-tool data: we email you a confirmation link, and confirming permanently deletes everything saved for that address.

Changes

If we change this notice, we’ll update the date at the top. Questions? See the home page or email us.
